Radio Laria with Telia Nevile and Rhonda Crisp Wednesday 3rd August

Radio Laria invites you to experience the wise and witty poetry of Telia Nevile and Rhonda Crisp. Writer and performer Telia Nevile won Best Work in the 2021 Melbourne Fringe Festival. Rhonda Crisp is a wickedly wonderful poet who has done a lot to support the Melbourne Spoken Word scene.

Radio Laria provides a safe, inclusive space for poets, writers and story tellers to share their work. We have an open mic with 10 spots. Sign up on the night, and all genders are welcome to share. Tickets are $10 (full) or $5 (concession) and are available from:

We will also have tickets on the door. The gig takes place at Open Studio (204 High Street, 3070), a Northcote institution for culturally amazing gigs. Come along and join this warm, vibrant poetry community and don’t forget about Open Studio’s yummy crepes!

Telia Nevile

Melbourne-based writer and performer Telia Nevile combines storytelling, poetry, ridiculous interpretive dance and punk cabaret to create shows that will make you laugh, let you cry and remind you that you’re not alone. They range from an epic poem about a blood-soaked beauty pageant, to an uncomfortably honest exploration of the expectations and realities of growing up. Her most recent show, Little Monster – a piece about inner demons written in the style of Dr Suess – won Best Work in Festival at the 2021 Melbourne Fringe, and previous pieces have won awards, award nominations and critical acclaim in Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
