Gig includes open mic where poets, storytellers and writers of all kinds are encouraged to share their work. All genders are welcome to read, sign up on the night, 10 slots available and 5 minute limit. The audience is very supportive and we welcome new readers.

Simone King (she/her) is a poet, writer and editor living on Wurundjeri country. Simone’s words have been published in Rabbit, Cordite, Plumwood Mountain, Right Now and Mascara. Simone won the 2022 Blake Poetry Prize and the 2021 Woorilla Poetry Prize. Simone coedited What we Carry: Poetry on Childbearing, Recent Work Press, 2021. She has spoken on panels and performed her poetry at Sydney Writers’ Festival and Queensland Poetry Festival.
